She condemned ARN Media for not being upfront about the use of an AI-generated presenter, arguing that Australian listeners deserve honesty and transparency. Lim emphasized the importance of informing the audience so they can distinguish between real and artificial presenters, stating, "We’re trying to understand what is real and what is not."

In response to the backlash, Ciaran Davis, the CEO of ARN, acknowledged the ongoing debate about authenticity in broadcasting. He noted that the revelation about the AI host has led to an exploration of what constitutes genuine engagement with listeners. Despite the criticism, ARN Media appears committed to utilizing AI technology to enhance its programming offerings rather than replace traditional broadcasting methods entirely.

This incident is part of a broader trend where AI-generated content is infiltrating the media landscape, often without clear acknowledgment. For example, Microsoft recently faced scrutiny after the launch of their AI-driven ad, only later disclosing the use of AI in its production—their hesitance mimicking ARN’s approach.
